So before i add pictures i will give everyone an update, and beware it is long. So, i don't think many people know this, but Brandon's dad was diagnosed with metatstatic melonoma about a month ago and he had his surgery on Thursday morning to remove the cancerous lymph node. He is doing very well and it appears as though they were able to remove all of the cancer. The took biopsies of his throat, tongue, other lymph nodes, and behind his nose. They have looked all over his body and in his eyes to find where the cancer orginated, as it didn't originate in the lymph node. Good news is that all of those sites have come as negative, meaning no cancer, which is really good. However, we still are unsure on the primary site. This slightly affects the next steps to take becuase without knowing where the cancer started it is hard to determine the areas for radiation. He will start radiation in four weeks, so please keep him and our family in your prayers. He is still in the hospital and can get out once they remove the tubes for drainage from his neck. He had two tubes, but they were able to remove one today. So hopefully tomorrow or Monday he will get to go home.
Now that i have that out of the way, lets backtrack to the night before his surgery. My sister, Tiffany, called me at about 9:00 her time and was complaining of right sided stomach pain, it was so bad at times she could barely talk. I told her to go to the ER and she called a family friend who took her. Well at about 1:00 in the morning her time, we find out that she had appendicitis. So Thursday morning while Brandon's dad was in surgery so my sister. ALthough my sister's surgery was only 1 hours long and Brandon's dad was 4.5 hours. Anyways they removed her appendix, a cyst on her ovary, and some extra fluid in her abdominal cavity. She is back at home but it still pretty sore. So keep her in your prayers as well.
Lastly, my other sister kimberly had foot surgery two Friday's ago. This was a planned surgery for a broken seismoid bone in her foot. She was born with the broken bone, but as she has started running more it was causing her problems.
Oh and one more thing, about three weeks ago (when we first found out about Brandon's dad), i went for a doctor's appointment and had been feeling some pain in my right lower abdomen. They found a small mass, so they did an ultrasound. Turns out i have a cyst, can't remember what type, and it isn't a big deal. I had to schedule an appointment with a GI specialist to rule out anything GI. And i am fine there. So i have appointment next Monday to see what the doctors wants to do. I am hoping we can just watch the cyst, as i don't really have time right now for a surgery no matter how small.
So I have been busy these past few days, but it is a times like this that i had to rely on God even more, becuase i couldn't handle all of this on my own. I am so thankful that all three of family members are out of surgery and are doing well. And i am extremely hopeful that next week won't be so eventful! =)
